EUBOIA. Chalkis. Circa 290-273/1 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.15 g, 3 h). Head of the nymph Chalkis to right, her hair in a roll and wearing pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. XAΛ Eagle flying right, grasping serpent with his talons that coils around his body; to right, wreath. BCD Euboia -. Picard 29, p. 64 and pl. XIV (this coin, erroneously described as a forgery). Attractively toned and with a fine pedigree. Good very fine.
